GRIN
This case study outlines my process in designing the web UI for a fintech company based in Uruguay. The goal was to create a seamless platform for managing financial transactions, with a primary focus on web design and mobile responsiveness.
I focused on crafting an intuitive, user-friendly interface that would work smoothly across different devices, ensuring an optimized experience for all users.

Problem
The GRIN team needed to develop an internal product—a digital wallet for financial transactions. The objective was to create a visually appealing platform that would stand out in the competitive South American fintech market. A key challenge was optimizing the UI for mobile, as the project did not include the development of a native mobile app. Given that most users accessed the platform via mobile devices, it was essential to design for smaller screens.
The implementation was handled by GRIN’s internal engineering team, while I was contracted externally to provide clear, well-documented designs, ensuring smooth development without ambiguity regarding behaviors, styles, and interactions.
Process
We began with a kickoff meeting with the executive team to clarify their expectations, followed by documentation outlining the requirements for each section. The process proceeded through these key steps:
Presentation of wireframes to the GRIN team.
Feedback and refinements based on team suggestions.
Final presentation of user flows with high-fidelity UI.
Outcome
A Design System to ensure consistency across the platform.
A fully developed responsive web platform optimized for mobile devices.
In-platform advertising banners designed to enhance user engagement.
An interactive prototype showcasing the happy path.
Learnings
This project allowed me to put my project management skills into practice. I collaborated closely with the operations and business strategy teams rather than the development team, gaining a broader perspective on the business side of product creation.
I refined my approach to web design, ensuring every screen was fully optimized for mobile devices. I also improved my documentation process in Figma, making design handoffs clear and easy to implement.
Additionally, I strengthened my ability to manage my own timelines, from planning to execution and delivery, enhancing both efficiency and workflow.
